Biomass
Securing sustainably sourced agricultural and forestry residues with documented chain of custody, verified feedstock origin, and no competition with food or feed production.
CarbonVerde develops biochar pyrolysis projects in Latin America and connects them with rising European demand for verified CO2 removal credits.
As development and project partner, we bring technical expertise, access to markets and suppliers and our own network to the table.
From project idea to turnkey plant.
The value chain is transparent and verifiable. Agricultural and forestry biomass is pyrolysed on site, the carbon is stored in biochar, and the removal is measured, verified and recorded in registers under recognised standards.
Securing sustainably sourced agricultural and forestry residues with documented chain of custody, verified feedstock origin, and no competition with food or feed production.
Conversion into biochar through pyrolysis in Oxygen-limited conditions. The process heat produced is used and replaces fossil energy.
Measurement, documentation and independent verification of each tonne of CO₂ removed, followed by certification and registration in recognised carbon removal registries in accordance with established CDR standards.
Commercialisation of carbon removal credits through long-term offtake agreements in the voluntary CDR market, providing predictable revenue streams and supporting stable, long-term project financing.
Market selection is based on a consistent set of criteria across all regions, including the availability of sustainable biomass feedstock, regulatory stability and reliable access to local infrastructure and networks.
Large volumes of sustainable biomass from sugarcane residues, complemented by eucalyptus, coffee and rice residues. Supported by strong logistics and a mature market for agricultural machinery. Further supported by regulatory stability and active climate policy.
Growing agricultural sector with significant biomass volumes from sugarcane, coffee, rice and cocoa residues. A strong need for soil improvement supports local circular value creation and enhances the attractiveness of biochar projects.
Continuous biomass streams from cocoa, oil palm and sugarcane residues. Geographically concentrated feedstock sources, short transport distances to Pacific ports and a strongly export-oriented agricultural sector support efficient project deployment.
Ambitious climate policy, high institutional reliability and biomass from coffee, pineapple and forestry residues.
Biochar is one of the few carbon removal technologies available at industrial scale today, with measurable removals and durability over centuries.
Every tonne of CO₂ removed is measured, documented, independently verified and recorded in a registry. This makes the removal transparent, traceable and accountable. No estimates, no offsetting logic.
Biochar improves soil water retention and nutrient availability. Carbon removal is therefore combined with tangible agricultural benefits.
Plants can be scaled to available biomass volumes. Proven site concepts can be replicated rather than developing each project from scratch.
CarbonVerde operates with six clearly defined partner categories. Individual partner names will be disclosed upon execution of the respective agreements.
CarbonVerde is a project initiative of Greenwater GmbH and builds on its project management and project development expertise. As project developer, we bring together market analysis, site and partner selection, financing, grant funding and the integration of technology partners.
This also includes the project management of plant suppliers, from tendering and contracting through technical coordination, schedule and cost control to acceptance and commissioning. Supplier management remains under a single point of responsibility throughout the delivery process.

Feasibility studies, detailed planning and pilot phases are supported end to end with matching programmes from state, federal and EU sources. Involved early, cleanly documented, and carried through to disbursement.
Site studies and pre-studies, techno-economic assessment, outlines and applications.
Planning, construction and operation of reference plants, with a matching mix from state, federal and EU programmes.
Building fundable consortia with research and industry partners, including roles, budgets and milestones.
Every investment decision is preceded by a grant-funded feasibility study covering biomass availability, site conditions, technology, project economics and financing. We seek investors who want to partner with us from the outset and accompany projects through development and implementation.
Whether you are a biomass supplier, plant manufacturer, investor or carbon credit buyer, we look forward to hearing from you.
